Touching or carrying a copy of the Qurโan:
Prohibited – majority
Not prohibited – Dhaahiri (Dawood and ibn Hazm), al-Albaani
Recitation of the Qurโan, even if it is just part of a verse:
Prohibited – Hanafi, Shafaโi, Sufyan ath-Thawri, Ishaaq, ibn Mubarak
Disliked – al-Albaani, Umar, Ali, al-Hasan, Qataadah
Not prohibited – Maliki, Hanbali, ibn Abbas, Saโeed ibn al-Musayyeb, Saโeed ibn Jubair, Akrimah, Ibraheem an-Nakhโi, at-Tabari, al-Bukhari, Dhaahiri, ash-Showkaani
Staying in the masjid:
Prohibited – majority
Not prohibited – Dhaahiri, al-Muzny, al-Albaani, ibn Abbas
Conditionally not prohibited – Ahmed and Ishaaq:
Condition – performing ablution following the occurrence
However, they did not prohibit staying in the masjid if the major impurity resulted from menstruation.
Passing through the masjid:
Prohibited – Hanafi and Maliki
Not prohibited – Shafaโi, Hanbali, ibn Abbas, ibn Masโud
