What is fiqh?
Fiqh is the Islamic jurisprudence that encompasses the understanding and interpretation of Islamic law based on the Quran and the Sunnah (traditions and practices of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him). It deals with various aspects of life, including religious, social, economic, and legal matters. Fiqh provides guidelines and principles for Muslims to follow in their daily lives, covering topics such as prayer, fasting, charity, family matters, business transactions, and more. Scholars skilled in fiqh are known as jurists or fuqaha, and they derive legal rulings from Islamic sources to guide the Muslim community in matters of personal conduct and communal affairs.
