No, we do not adopt the majority opinion in this case because there is no evidence in the sunnah that there is a specified time limit.

The scholars adopted the 4 day limit based on a trip our Prophet (pbuh) took from Medina to Mecca in which he knew beforehand would last 4 days. They state that other longer trips that our Prophet (pbuh) took, in which he broke his fast for the entire duration of the trip, was due to him not knowing beforehand how long he would be staying away from home. However, there is nothing in the sunnah to indicate that such a distinction exists.
