In a hadith narrated by Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) vocalized the
commencement of Umrah with Talbiya emphasizing the Oneness of Allah (Tawheed):
“Labbayka Allahuma Labbayk, Labbayka La Shareeka Laka Labbayk, Innal-hamda
wan-n’imata laka wal-mulk. La shareeka lak.” This Talbiya translates into: “Here I am at
Your service, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, O Allah, You have no partners, here I am.
Indeed all praise and the favour is Yours and the dominion. You have no partners.”
