Is it halal to draw 3D pictures of humans and animals if I draw the head but without resembling a real human being’s face?

The Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Those who make images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: ‘Bring to life that which you have created.’” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (5607) and Muslim (2108).

Some scholars permitted drawing images of living beings that do not resemble real human beings’ faces. It is permissible to draw the face without its clear human features such as the eyes, nose, and ears, and this is not considered to be competing with the creation of Allah, especially if it is done for the purpose of educating the young or for permissible entertainment like some selected video games.

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen  may  Allaah  have  mercy  upon  him said: “If the image is not clear, meaning: it does not have the eye, nose, mouth and the fingers, then it is not a complete image, and it is not considered to be competing with the creation of Allah the Almighty [..] If the image is not clear, even if it has limbs or a head or neck, but there are no eyes or nose, then there is nothing wrong with it because it is not competing with the creation of Allah.” [End of quote -from Majmoo‘ Fataawa]
