– Wudu’ should be done when possible.
– If there is a possibility that wudu’ may harm the injured body part, cause the condition to worsen, or increase the pain, then wiping the injured body part is permitted.
– If wiping would also be harmful, the injured body part should be wrapped and one should gently wipe with water over the wrap.
– It is not necessary to be in a state of purity while placing the cast or wrap (Hanafi and Maliki).
– There is no time limit for wiping, as long as the condition in question exists.
