The top of the footwear should be wiped with a wet hand.
A slipper must cover the top of the foot; socks don’t have to be worn with the slippers.
It is allowed to wipe over anything that has been wrapped around the feet for any reason.
If there are small holes in the leather socks or regular socks, it is permissible to wipe on top of them.
