- I wish to marry a revert Muslim sister whom I met in college. My parents disapprove of the marriage and refuse to serve as witnesses. The sister’s family is not Muslim and cannot fulfill the role of guardians or witnesses. How can we proceed with a valid marriage in this situation?

Is there an exception to the impermissibility of making tawwaf while on menses?

Ibn Taymiyyah states that this would not apply in regard to women who traveled long distances. He believes that those women are allowed to do the tawwaf while on menses. That fatwa is now widely followed for traveling women from faraway places. The general ruling still applies to women who do not travel long distances to Mecca.
