You should break the fast at sunset. It is not necessary to delay iftar beyond sunset. The best practice is to hasten to break the fast exactly when the sun sets, as taught by the Prophet ๏ทบ.
The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ emphasized breaking the fast as soon as the sun sets and discouraged unnecessary delay. The Prophet ๏ทบ said: “The people will remain upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast.”(Bukhari 1957, Muslim 1098)
