UPDATED Collection Of Zakat-ul-fitr

The IAR Social & Welfare Committee is collecting Zakat-ul-Fitr. You may pay via our website by selecting Zakat-ul-Fitr from the dropdown menu in the donate portal, texting 'iarzakat' to 50155, or on the IAR premises. This year the Zakat-ul-Fitr amount is estimated to be $11 per person. It must be paid before Eid prayers in order to qualify as Zakat-ul-Fitr.

It is obligatory on each Muslim young or old, male or female, rich or poor to give Zakat-ul-Fitr if he has food exceeding his and his dependents' needs for one day and one night. A Muslim must pay on his own behalf and on the behalf of dependents that he is obligated to support such as his children and wife.

IAR uses contributed funds to purchase and deliver food to qualified recipients.

Qiyam (Night Prayers) for Last 10 Nights

The last 10 nights of Ramadan will start on Thursday overnight into Friday, June 15-16. There will be nightly qiyam prayers starting at 3am and lasting approximately 40 minutes. Those wishing to make itikaf should register with the Security office and familiarize themselves with the guidelines. Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) will be provided by IAR. Kindly note that no unsupervised children will be allowed overnight without parental supervision.
