The Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR) would like to invite the community to an Eid Picnic on Saturday June 15th at the White Oak Shelter at Jordan Lake, Apex, NC from 11:00 am to 5:00pm.

The last 10 nights of Ramadan will start on Saturday overnight into Sunday, May 25-26. There will be nightly qiyam prayers starting at 3:15am and lasting approximately half hour plus witr, led by Sh. Hoosain Dalvi and guest reciters.
Those wishing to make itekaf must register with the Security office and familiarize themselves with the guidelines. Suhoor (pre-dawn meal) will be provided by IAR.
Kindly note that no unsupervised children will be allowed overnight without parental supervision.
IAR is working towards a Silver certification from MUHSEN for providing a friendly environment for special needs families. Muhsen (Muslims Understanding and Helping Special Education Needs) is a non - profit umbrella organization serving the Muslim community to establish a more inclusive "Special Needs Friendly" environment for our Brothers & Sisters living with Disabilities. Muhsen will advocate, educate, train and implement programs and services nationwide to improve access to Masajid for individuals with Special Needs as well as acceptance and inclusion by the community in all aspects.
As an ongoing effort to support Muhsen in its goal to recognize and learn the requirements for individuals with disabilities, IAR requests that if you have a family member with special needs to please fill out the Needs Assessment survey. Also, if you know anyone who has a family member with special needs, please send the link to the survey to them. All responses are confidential and will automatically be directed to Muhsen.

The IAR is delighted to announce the formation of the marketing committee. The Marketing Committee sets the vision for and manages the overall marketing strategy of the IAR.
The purpose of this committee is to:
- Work with the IAR-CEO to define the short-term and long-term marketing needs.
- Contribute to and review the marketing plan to ensure progress toward annual and long-range goals.
- Set priorities for marketing efforts; evaluate plans and strategies; and present outcomes to admin team.
- Work with different committees to coordinate efforts around, public relations, website, social media communications, newsletters, annual report, and other marketing projects.
- Identify and recruit community members to serve on the Marketing Committee.
- Engage in advocacy and networking.
- Keep our community members informed with all the current activities and services that we offer.
Requirements: bachelor's degree in marketing research or a related field, business administration or communications
Time Commitment: about 4 – 8 hours per month. These are volunteer positions.
