I am writing to share some important news regarding an incident that occurred this morning.

Unfortunately, a bomb threat was made directly to 911 targeting our masjid. The Raleigh Police Department (RPD) responded within minutes, working in close coordination with the IAR Security Team. Alhamdulillah, the campus has been cleared and is safe to resume normal operations.

To ensure the security of our community, we took the following immediate steps:

• Secure Lockdown: All entrances were locked down immediately upon notification.
• Thorough Search: RPD K-9 units conducted a comprehensive sweep of the entire campus over several hours.
• Ongoing Investigation: The RPD is actively investigating the source of this anonymous threat, and we will pursue all necessary recourse to ensure our continued safety.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure. Specifically, we made the decision to cancel Al-Furqan Sunday School today, as the safety of our students and staff remains our absolute priority.

While I recognize this news is unsettling, we believe transparency is vital. This event serves as a reminder to all of us to remain vigilant. Please be aware of your surroundings and remember: if you see something, say something.
