Message from the New Chairperson of Al-Iman

Dear Al-Iman Parents, Staff, and the IAR Community,

Alhamdulillah, I would like to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to the IAR Shura for their trust in appointing me as the new Chairperson of Al-Iman School beginning June 2025. It is an honor to serve in this role, and I am humbled by the opportunity to continue building on the vision and legacy of our beloved school.

As both an alumna of Al-Iman School and rooted in the IAR community, it is especially  meaningful for me to step into this role at a time when my own children now attend Al-Iman.  This journey has come full circle, and I am deeply committed to building on the legacy of our school for future generations.

As we enter Al-Iman’s 33rd year since its inception, we are reminded that Al-Iman is truly a community school established, supported, and sustained by the dedication of parents, educators,  and the wider IAR community. Together, we remain united in serving our children and contributing to the growth and progress of our ummah.

We also recognize an important milestone this year: the opening of our Al-Iman School site at  Page Road. We make du‘a that this expansion is the beginning of many more opportunities for growth, inshallah, and that it brings barakah to our students, families, and community for generations to come.

As your School Committee, our responsibility is to provide guidance, oversight, and long-term direction in partnership with IAR leadership and the school’s administration. Together, we are committed to:

Upholding alignment with the Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR) as one body united in mission and values.

Providing oversight and accountability to support effective operations, fiscal responsibility, and transparency.

Setting strategic direction to guide the school’s long-term growth and sustainability.

Supporting the administration and leadership as they implement the educational vision of Al-Iman.

Engaging parents and the community to strengthen trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility.

Contingent upon Shura approval, we have selected the managers and officers of the school who will serve alongside me on the Al-Iman, LLC Committee:

We begin this school year with optimism and determination. The strength of Al-Iman lies in our dedicated educators, our engaged parents, our bright students, and the wider IAR community that stands with us. Your du‘as, your ideas, and your support are vital to our shared success.

We close with gratitude for the unwavering support Al-Iman has received over the past 33 years,  from parents, community members, and IAR officials. That partnership has been the foundation  of our success, and we look forward to building upon it together in the years ahead.

May Allah (SWT) bless our efforts, protect our children, and place barakah in all that we do.

Kind regards,

Nada Wafa, Ph.D.
