Know Your Rights

The Friday Night Program for September 28 from Maghrib to Isha is a workshop titled “Know Your Rights” led by Sr Maryam Al-Zoubi.

If you don’t know your rights, you don’t have rights. Learn how to protect yourself and your family.

All Americans have constitutional rights that the government cannot violate. Immigrants also have rights. But unless you know your rights in every situation, you cannot protect yourself.

Do you know what rights you have?

Recently, it has become crucial to know what to do if you are stopped by the police or immigration officers in the street, in the airport, or at your job.

Come to the workshop to learn your rights as:

  • An American citizen
  • An American immigrant
  • An employee
  • An airlines passenger
  • As a student

The workshop will be led by Maryam Al-Zoubi. Maryam Al-Zoubi is the senior attorney at Bull City Lawyer, an immigration and criminal defense law firm. She is a
former New York City prosecutor and has years of experience in court. She grew up in the Raleigh area and is fluent in Arabic.

We are delighted to highlight the amazing work of our community in this impact report.
