We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our beautiful community for your cooperation and support during this unique Eid. Our Eid prayer accommodated several hundred cars across two shifts, serving approximately 2,000 worshippers in one of the 10 largest Eid prayers in the country. Our virtual Eid reminder has received over 6,000 views to date. The arrangements made it one of the only prayers that was able to accommodate elders and the young while maintaining social distancing. In addition, the prayer was covered in the media by the N&O, WRAL, ABC11, and Spectrum News.
The event provided opportunity both to those who wanted to get together and pray together, as well as those praying at home as advised and supported by our Imam, to gather and hear a single unifying community message. Our wonderful congregation was very cooperative and supportive in following our directions to ensure the health and safety of everyone.
The remarkable passion and dedication of our team of volunteers and staff in serving our community is amazing to behold. Despite challenges faced due to the current circumstances, they invested countless hours of research, planning, and preparation to help make this possible. Jazakum Allahu khairan to our Safety & Security Committee, Admin staff, Maintenance, Yaseer group, Media, IT, & Technology teams, Social & Welfare Committee, and the Office of the Imam who all played key roles to make this event successful. Congratulations on this blessed gathering and may Allah bless you all.
