The Social & Welfare Committee also provides Udiyah or Qurbani services to the local community. Each year the Social & Welfare Committee collects funds for the Udhiya / Qurbani program and sends the collected money through Islamic International Organizations to help areas that are suffering with poverty and famine.
The amount per Udhiyah / Qurbani collected varies each year and depends on the country where the Udhiyah / Qurbani is to be performed.
The funds for this service are collected, accounted for independently, and sent separate from the Zakat and Sadaqah Funds. Announcements to the community are made at Friday prayers before Eid, and are also posted on the IAR website three to four weeks ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
