No special outfit is required. The requirement is modesty and covering the ‘awrah (private parts).

• Men: Must cover from navel to knees at minimum. It is preferred to wear clean clothes covering shoulders.

• Women: Should cover everything except face and hands during prayer, wearing loose, modest clothing.

Reference: Umm Salamah (RA) was asked what a woman should wear in prayer. She replied:

“A long dress and a head covering that covers the top of her feet.” (Abu Dawud 639)
