What should I do if my family dislikes Islam?
Islam teaches patience and respect toward parents and family, even if they reject your new faith. The Qur’an commands kindness to parents regardless of their religion:
“And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. But if they strive to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. To Me is your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.” (Qur’an 29:8)
This means you can respectfully disagree with family while maintaining love and good treatment. If practicing openly causes danger or abuse, you may conceal your faith until it’s safe.
