New Islamic High School

Al Iman School plans to start a high school beginning with a 9th grade inshallah this Fall. The school will host an information session this Friday, March 15th, after Maghrib in the IAR musallah inshallah. All interested families are welcome.

Al Iman School will also host its annual fundraising gala this Saturday inshallah at McKimmon Center at 5:30 PM.

Qiyam Tonight with Sh. Dr. Naser Rezk

IAR will hold a Qiyam Night with Sh. Dr. Naser Rezk of Al-Azhar this Friday, March 8 after Isha at 8pm. Following, there will be a short talk on Qur’anic Education, an open Q&A, and Qiyam Prayers ending by approximately 10:30pm. We would like to invite you and your entire family to join us!

March Recitation Group with Sh. Dr. Nasir Rezk

IAR will be hosting open Quran Maqra’a (Recitation Group) between Maghrib and Isha on Saturdays (for sisters) and Sundays (for brothers) throughout March in the Musallah. It will be with Sh. Dr. Nasir Rezk and a great opportunity to practice your recitation and tajweed and get individual coaching. Open to All!

DST Prayer Time and Jummuah Time Changes

This coming Sunday, March 10, 2019, Daylight Savings Time will begin. Please note the new adhan and iqamah times for the daily prayers. The 3rd shift time only for Friday prayer will change effective next Friday, March 15: the new time for the 3rd shift will be from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM.

IAR Annual Open House on March 9

The Islamic Association of Raleigh will be hosting the annual Open House on Saturday March 9 from 11am to 3pm, featuring keynote address by Imam AbuTaleb.

Come learn about your fellow American Muslims, observe them at prayer and sample culinary treats from around the Islamic world.

We would like to encourage our Muslim congregants to limit their visit to the masjid, other than for Salah (prayers), between 11 am – 3 pm that day in order to accommodate the arrival of guests.

IAR Management Committee Chair

The IAR is seeking a volunteer to serve as the chair for the management committee. The chair will be a member of the administration team.

The role of the management chair is assuring the general maintenance of IAR Property, including the Gymnasium, Kitchen, Schools, Air-conditioning, Elevator, Access system, Security Camera system, Cleaning (Indoor and Outdoor), Playground, Lawn services, outside lights. The full-time maintenance technician reports to the management chair.

Friday Night Program after isha: Rohingya Muslims – a humanitarian crisis

Please attend an awareness meeting for the humanitarian crisis of the Rohingya Muslims seeking refuge in Bangladesh.

Sister Zarrin Ayesha visited the camps this past Summer along with 3 of her college going children.

They would like to update the community about the harsh conditions the Rohingya are facing, as well as current/future efforts being undertaken with your help.

There will be a video presentation and short discussion.

We are delighted to highlight the amazing work of our community in this impact report.
