Eid ul Fitr

Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet said to his Companions, “There has come to you the month of Ramadan, which Allaah has enjoined you to fast. In this month, the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hellfire are closed. The devils are chained in this month, and there is a night in it which is better than a thousand months of worship: whoever is deprived of its goodness is indeed deprived.”

The Islamic Association of Raleigh strives to provide an inclusive environment for our community members with special needs and disabilities.

The main building has a wheelchair-accessible prayer hall and bathrooms, as well as elevator access to the upper floors. IAR has a few wheelchairs available for use on site on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Every 1PM Jumuah Khutbah is live-streamed with ASL interpretation as well.

Please contact our Special Needs Facilitator at [email protected] with any questions or requests.

IAR will offer an on-site babysitting service for Taraweeh worshipers. To register, please use this link.

  • The babysitting service will be offered nighly from Isha to after the first Dua (after the 8 rakats).  Children must be picked up immediately after the dua that follows the first 8 rakats.
  • Prior registration is required.
  • Please drop off your children (ages 3-7) at the Al Iman preschool (red brick building by the playground) no more than 10 minutes before Isha.
  • We can only offer babysitting services for children ages 3-7.
  • The IAR and babysitters are not responsible for lost/broken/misplaced items/toys your child brings to the babysitting room.
  • All children must be toilet trained. Volunteers will not change diapers/pull ups.
  • Parents need to be sure to answer their phones while children are in the care of babysitters.
  • Only authorized individuals may check out children from babysitting. Children will not be permitted to leave without an authorized individual.
  • For any inquiries please email [email protected].

InshaAllah, IAR will offer drive-through Iftar (evening) meals during the month of Ramadan, Monday through Thursday.

Needy, refugees, travelers, and those alone during Ramadan can pick up their Iftar meal to go between 6:00 and 7:00 PM.

Iftars will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.

Through the entire month we look forward to serving over 5,000 indiviudals including those who join us for suhoor during the last ten nights.

If you would like to sponsor an Iftar, please use this link. Your generous donations are use by IAR’s very own Al-Ma’idah Kitchen & Café to cook delicious and nutritious meals for the community.

PLEASE NOTE: The daily Iftar service is reserved solely for those who need it. If you are in a position where you can offset the cost of your meal, we highly encourage you to do so (each meal costs us $13.50).

After considering the rate of inflation, Zakat ul Fitr for this year is determined to be $15 per person, and Fiddyah $8 per day (of missed fasting).

You can fulfill these obligations online, using our lobby kiosks, or with cash/check using the appropriate envelope.

Your masjid will livestream select Friday Reminders, Tarweeh Prayers, Qiyam, and more. You can tune in on our YouTube channel

Itikaf is offered during the last ten nights. Itikaf registration is required. A form will be posted here closer to the last ten nigihts.

Tahajjud/Qiyaam (night prayer) will begin during the last ten nights. Suhoor will be provided for worshippers. More information will be posted shortly.
