Letter from the Imam
In this trying time, I begin by praying for your safety, for your families, our community, and all humanity – may Allah lift this tribulation, grant us all patience and steadfastness, and cause it to be a source of nearness to Him. Further, I wish to sincerely appreciate the great honor of serving you alongside our incredible staff and dedicated volunteers. At a time when we are all consumed with the impact of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic on our lives, you have never wavered in supporting our beloved Islamic Association of Raleigh with your time, donations, contributions, and duaa. May Allah accept in your scales and make it a source of continuous good for you and your families, ameen.
Even as the pandemic forced our building to close, your masjid has kept leading, serving, and giving. The difficult but necessary step of building closure was taken alongside a dozen masajid throughout the region, and our joint Triangle Imams Council Declaration was referenced across the Triangle region, in scholarly circles, and even internationally as a model of unity, solidarity, and togetherness alhamdulillah.
As we wish you Ramadan Mubarak, we are committed to being with you every step of the way - Keeping You Connected. The first day of fasting will be Friday, April 24, 2020. Download our Ramadan timetable/imsakiyya to track iftar and suhur times daily, integrate our Google Calendar and download our IAR App on Android and iPhone to get automated notifications at prayers. For those unable to fast due to chronic conditions, you may offer the Fidya of $7 per day of missed fast, used exclusively to feed those in need. Under the leadership of Imam Muamar Dahnoun, a number of religious rulings related to the current circumstances are posted in English and Arabic for your benefit. After reviewing our online answers, if you have additional questions please visit our click “Religious Inquiries” and we will be happy to assist.

The mosques of Allah are only to be maintained by those who believe in Allah and the Last Day and establish prayer and give zakah and do not fear except Allah, for it is expected that those will be of the [rightly] guided.
