Alhamduliah we have the space to expand\, but require a capital infusion to clear trees and create an elegant final resting place. \n \n Cemetery \n\n Waqf: Sadaqa Jariah \nIbn Umar reported\, Umar Ibn Al-Khattab got land in Khaybar\, so he came to the prophet Muhammad and asked him to advise him about it. The Prophet said\, ‘If you like\, make the property inalienable and give the profit from it to charity.'” It goes on to say that Umar gave it away as alms\, that the land itself would not be sold\, inherited or donated. He gave it away for the poor\, the relatives\, the slaves\, the jihad\, the travelers and the guests. And it will not be held against him who administers it if he consumes some of its yield in an appropriate manner or feeds a friend who does not enrich himself by means of it. We invite you to participate live either on Zoom (fill out form to get the zoom link)\, YouTube\, or Facebook every Sunday from 2-3 PM\, and you may send in your questions on the live chat. \nThis informal class is intended for non-Muslims but Muslims are highly encouraged to attend with their non-Muslim guests. The class introduces non-Muslims to the basic articles of Islam and focuses on topics that are brought up by the participants. \nOnly main issues of the faith are discussed. Any questions about Islamic law (fiqh) are forwarded to the Imams of the Islamic Center of Raleigh who are better equipped to answer those questions. \nIf you have questions\, please contact the IAR Outreach Committee at outreach@islam1.org. \nIf you request a visit and this is your first time visiting the Islamic Center of Raleigh\, here are some pointers on visiting a mosque: \n\nMen and Women are expected to wear modest\, loose-fitting clothes. Muslim women typically wear a headscarf as well.\nTake off shoes before entering the prayer area at a mosque\nPut phones on silent while prayer services are being offered\nTake conversations outside the prayer hall to avoid distracting those who are praying\nPlease be aware that many Muslims do not shake hands with anyone of the opposite gender. That is\, men do not shake hands with women\, and women do not shake hands with men.
