Basics of Quranic Arabic
The An Noor Quran Academy and IAR Education Committee is pleased to announce a new summer intensive course titled, "Basics of Quranic Arabic".
The only prerequisites for the course are that you should be able to fluently read Quran and write Arabic script.
This course introduces students to the fundamental building blocks of Quranic language. It thus enables the students to comprehend the underlying structure of the Quranic language, paving the way toward understanding the divine Word directly.
The goals of the Basics of Quranic Arabic include:
- Building the grammatical foundation of Quranic Arabic in order to lay bare its underlying structure and logic.
- Preparing the students for a basic ability in translating the Qur'an into English, and for an intermediate level of instruction in grammar.
The Instructor for the course is Sh Adnan Rehman. He began his Arabic education in Lahore, Pakistan, where he earned a diploma in Islamic Studies at the Qur'an Academy. His Arabic education continued in Malaysia where he earned a master's degree in Islamic Studies from the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization.
Sh Adman Rehman has also availed opportunities for studying Arabic in Cairo, Egypt. Upon returning to the United States, he has been teaching Quranic Arabic to Muslim communities across the country. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the Philosophy of Religion from Boston University.
