Multimedia & Marketing Support Specialist

The Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR) is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to serve in the role of Multimedia & Marketing Support Specialist.  The position is a paid, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.

The Islamic Association of Raleigh (IAR) is an Islamic center serving as a mosque, schools, and a gathering place for the Muslim community in the Triangle region of North Carolina. The IAR is one of the oldest mosques in the area and hosts over three thousand congregants every Friday and ten thousand for Eid.


Multimedia Content Creation:

  • Edit and assemble raw footage into polished and engaging videos for various platforms, including social media, websites, and internal communications.
  • Record quality content using state-of-the-art studio equipment.
  • Record B-Roll at IAR activities and events for various multimedia uses
  • Organize and maintain an efficient system for storing and retrieving video files.
  • Generate multimedia that does effective storytelling of IAR’s ongoing and past accomplishments and activities.
  • Work closely with graphic designers, photographers, and other multimedia professionals to ensure a cohesive and visually appealing brand representation.
  • Provide input on the visual aspects of multimedia projects to enhance overall quality and consistency.

Live Stream Production:

  • Prepare streams in advance for our various platforms and create livestream events (ZOOM, YouTube) for multiple weekly and occasional one-time programs and events. Some preparatory communication with the Imams’ office and other staff members will be needed.
  • Prepare graphics and digital media to enhance the live stream experience.
  • Live stream programs operating our PTZ cameras, monitoring sound, and ensuring a seamless quality experience for those watching.
  • Retrieving recorded program audio/video files and organizing/sending as needed
  • Ensuring a consistent quality of production.

On-Site A/V & Technical Support:

  • Set up and configure A/V equipment for meetings, programs, and special events (banquets, Eid prayers, nightly Taraweeh, and more)
  • Assist IAR staff and committees with A/V and IT-related inquiries, offering guidance and training when necessary.
  • Work in collaboration with IAR IT and Facilities Maintenance teams as necessary
  • Manage and track inventory of A/V equipment and accessories.
  • Recommend and coordinate the procurement of new equipment as needed.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and quality checks to ensure all A/V systems are functioning optimally and improving overall quality and productivity.
  • Implement proactive measures for preventive maintenance, reducing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted A/V functionality during critical presentations.
  • Use ticketing systems to ensure all support requests are documented and streamlined.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film/Videography, Graphic Design, IT, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • A trained eye for professional aesthetics in videography and graphic design.
  • Experience with videography, video equipment, and video editing.
  • Experience with color correction and grading.
  • Understanding of social media trends and video optimization techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving industry technologies and trends.
  • Experience with live stream platforms.
  • Knowledge of sound design and audio editing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creative thinking and a passion for visual storytelling.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Compensation: Compensation is commensurate with experience.  The employee will be an exempt employee.  IAR Personnel policy governs work conditions and benefits.
