An-Noor Quran Academy (ANQA) Board/Committee Chairperson

The IAR seeks qualified candidates for the volunteer role of Chairperson of the An-Noor Quran Academy (ANQA) which is a full-time school and specializes in Quran memorization.  ANQA has developed a unique program, tailored to Quran Hifdh as well as the academic needs of students. The academic curriculum meets the North Carolina Standard Course of Study (NCSOS) requirements and the National Achievement Tests criteria. By initiating a variety of cohesive memorizations programs, ANQA trains students to become Hafiẓ / Hafiza of Quran, while simultaneously pursuing academic excellence in conventional subjects which will help nurture our students become future leaders and scholars in the American society. ANQA Board/Committee constitutes the governing board of the school and conducts the financial oversight, strategy, and policymaking for the school. The Chairperson of the ANQA is appointed by the Shura to a 3-year volunteer term to lead and facilitate the activities of the ANQA.  Additionally, the Chairperson has fiduciary and signature authority for ANQA and management of full-time and part-time staff.

Qualified candidates should ideally have experience in the following:

  • Project Management
  • Policy making and academic governance and strategy
  • Familiarity with academic and Islamic curricula
  • Familiarity with the IAR and An-Noor School
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team setting and leading teams
  • Managing direct reports

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-three years of experience of serving on the ANQA Board/Committee or serving in a leadership role at an Islamic School.
