The Social & Welfare Committee has selected Somalia for Udhiya/Qurbani this year to be done through Islamic Relief. The cost is $100 per sheep. Somalia has been selected based upon the information provided by Islamic Relief. Due to severe drought in the Horn of Africa more than 12 million people are affected facing chronic food shortages and many Somalis continue to live in an emergency situation, and 2 million people struggle to meet their minimum daily needs.
The money collection will begin on Friday, August 26 and the deadline to pay for Udhiya/Qurbani through IAR is September 7, 2016.
