Seeking Applications from Volunteers for Members of School Board at IAR (3 Positions)

The IAR Shura has approved the formation of a "School Board" that will provide a coherent long-term vision for Islamic Education at IAR and will focus on strategic planning for future growth for both Al-Iman and An-Noor Schools. IAR is seeking applications from volunteers to serve as "Members" on the School Board. A short-list of the selected candidates will be interviewed by the current members of the School Board (Brothers Yasir Ali, Samy-Abdel Baky, Jamshed Khan and Munir Abdullah) and selected three candidates will be presented to the Shura for formal approval and appointment to a 6-year term on the School Board.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ELIGIBILITY:

Recommend applicant have a college degree (preferred) with experience working in the field of education or management and strategic planning.

The individual must be physically residing in the greater Triangle community and also be a United States citizen or permanent resident.

Individual should be at least 30 years of age.

Recommended applicant should not be members of the IAR Shura, Executive Committee or IAR Board or an IAR staff member.

Anyone employed by either of the two schools (Al-Iman/An-Noor) and/or part of the Schools Administrations or School Committees is not eligible to become a School Board member (Exception: The two Schools Committee Chairs who are part of the School Board).
