The Social & Welfare Committee has selected Niger for Udhiyah/Qurbani this year to be done through Islamic Relief. The cost is 75 dollars per goat. Niger has been selected based upon the information provided by Islamic Relief. As many as 20 million people are facing chronic food shortages across the Sahel region of West Africa, some of whom are on the brink of starvation. Eight million people are already in need of emergency assistance in Niger, Mali and Chad.
The money collection will begin on Wednesday, September 17 and the deadline to pay for Udhiyah/Qurbani through IAR is October 1, 2014. If you would like to get Udhiyah done through IAR you can pay the required amount to Imam Baianonie, Br. Fiaz Farid or Sr. Hind Malik at Social & Welfare Committee Office.
