NC Science Fair Winner

Al-Iman School students performed with excellence in 2013 NC Science and Engineering Fair.

Maffaz White, a seventh grader received the first place in Earth and Environmental Science category. During the earlier regional rounds she had won the second place. Tasneem Essader, an eighth grader won the first place in the regional rounds for the Chemistry category.

The NC State Science fair is held annually and hundreds of students from public and private schools from all over NC participate in this competition.

Students first have to compete in Regional rounds, only the first and second place winners from all eight regionals are allowed to participate in the State Science Fair.

In the State Finals there were six categories which included Biological Science, Chemistry, Earth/Environmental Science, Physics, Technology, and Engineering.

There were 18 selected projects in the Earth and Environmental Science category. Maffaz White was selected the overall winner from among the 18 regional winners.

Al-Iman School has a long tradition of participating and winning at the regional and state competitions. We are extremely proud of our students and teachers for this accomplishment.
